Hey there! My name is Kenia. Welcome to A Year in Review, where I’ll share my traveling adventures, tips, and anything in between that happens throughout the year.
I fell in love with traveling when I got on my first plane at the age of 19 (we didn’t get family vacations growing up).
So when I bought my first plane ticket and flew to New York City, I was in awe by 1. how easy it was to travel and 2. I was in the city I had often seen in movies and tv. I was definitely feeling very ‘main character’.
Since then I’ve visited 23 states and my goal is to visit all 50 by the time I’m 30, all while keeping costs low.
And if you are someone who enjoys traveling or wants to start traveling but think you can’t afford it because you are a college student, have a low-salary job, or are living by yourself (I’ve been all), I’m here to share resources so you can too. These will focus on keeping costs affordable while still making the most out of your destination.
When I’m not traveling, I’m enjoying time with Berkeley, my dog, and if you want to see him in his cowboy costume go to @sirBerkeley on Instagram. I also love trying any restaurant my social media algorithm throws at me, listening to true-crime podcasts, or just googling whatever question I have in mind.
But more than anything, I love making time to work on myself. I’m a first-generation Latina on a journey to work on my mental, financial, and physical health. This has allowed me to explore and venture in different directions, always trying new things. So if you are just as curious as me and want to get out of your comfort zone but are unsure of the experience, I’ve probably already done it and would love to share it with you.
There’s always a first for every adventure!
